2012 Administrator of the Year Regional Award Winners Announced

FRISCO, Texas (Dec. 21, 2012) 
— US Youth Soccer announces the regional winners of the 2012 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year award. The Administrator of the Year award honors the extraordinary accomplishments in administration over a lifetime.

The national Administrator of the Year will be announced at the US Youth Soccer Awards Gala on Friday, Jan. 18, at 7:30 p.m., as part of the US Youth Soccer Workshop in Indianapolis, held in conjunction with the NSCAA Convention.

Brief bios of the regional winners are below based on the submitted nomination forms:
 
Region I – Paul Rossi – Westport, Conn.
Since 2002, Paul Rossi has been active in his Connecticut community in promoting and improving soccer clubs and programs. In his roles as president, commissioner or manager for Westport Soccer and the CJSA Southwest District, Rossi rebuilt multiple club and district websites to help the organizations run more smoothly. He instituted new processes to manage club growth and improve experiences for all participants for Connecticut Football Club Arsenal and currently is the manager for the U-13 Arsenal Girls team.
 
Region II – Kevin Cathelyn – Braidwood, Ill.
Less than a year after joining Reed-Custer Soccer Club in 2007, Kevin Cathelyn ascended to president and helped the club become the first to reach the Illinois Youth Soccer "5 Star" Program Recognition. He’s increased sponsorship for the club, hosted annual parties to honor volunteers, created a referee program to train high school-aged referees and increased participation in the 3v3 Summer Sensation Tournament to now include 44 teams.
 
Region III – Christy Senn – Greer, S.C.
A mother of three soccer-playing boys, Christy Senn has been involved in soccer for more than 15 years. She currently serves as Housing Coordinator for the Carolina Elite Soccer Academy and has helped it become a nationally recognized club. She helped manage the 2010 US Youth Soccer Region III Presidents Cup and 2012 US Youth Soccer Region III Championships. Senn recently helped create and manage the CESA College Combine, which gives more than 300 players a chance to showcase their talents for college coaches.
 
Region IV – Jon Dawson – Seattle, Wash.
For more than 10 years, Jon Dawson has acted as an administrator for youth soccer clubs in Washington and is currently President of Highline Soccer Association, where he provides leadership in a variety of areas. Prior to that, he acted as President for West Seattle Soccer Club and helped reverse a decline in spring soccer participation. During his involvement in youth soccer, Dawson has been an advocate for doing what is in the best interest of the kids.
 
The US Youth Soccer Workshop will be held in Indianapolis from January 16-19, 2013. The annual Workshop will be held at the Indianapolis Convention Center in conjunction with the NSCAA Convention.
