- Workshop/AGM. Our workshop is held the first Saturday in January. We will hold our Annual Awards Dinner the night before. At the dinner we honor our Regional level National Championship winners, our Region I ODP Tournament Champions, and those players who have been selected to the Region I ODP player pools and those who have played on a National team. We also recognize those adults who have made significant contributions to youth soccer in New Jersey by honoring the inductees into the NJYS Hall of Fame, our Coach of the Year and the Recreation Coach of the Year, and our Volunteer of the Year. The next day over 3000 coaches, players, and parents will attend our Coaches Workshop and Vendor exhibition. During the day, clinics and seminars will be held on subjects of important to youth soccer coaches and adults. About 100 vendor booths will have wares of interest to all. Kids will have the opportunity to be in our KidZone where they will have the chance to participate in soccer activities while their parents attend the clinics and seminars. All KidZone participants receive a soccer ball and a goodie bag.
- State Championships - NJYS conducts its National Championship Competition in three separate seesions. For U11 to U14 age groups the competition is held in the Fall of the seasonal year. Approximately 500 teams participate in this session. We also hold a separate State Cup competition for the U14 age group that leads only to a state wide championship and does not advance beyond the state level. In the Spring of the seasonal year, the U15-U18 age groups hold their National Championship competition and State Cup competition. The U19s hold their National Championship competition in late May/early June. Overall, 1000 teams participate in all sessions of the competitions.
- State US Youth Soccer ODP tryouts. NJYS begins its ODP tryouts during the first two weeks of August before the start of the seasonal year. The U13 and U14 age groups start at a area level within the state and at the end of the initial tryouts, two initial state pools of players are selected. The U15 through U17 age groups conduct a state wide tryout and a initial pool is selected at each age group. Because of high school commitments and weather, the final tryouts are held in April of the next calendar year. At that point a final state pool is selected and the players then have a once a week 8 week training season. The teams have an event during the first weekend in June, the Region I ODP Tournament during the second weekend in June and the program concludes with the Regional Camps held in July.
