Key Dates

Awards Dinner - We host our Annual Awards Dinner in January to honor teams and players who have achieved on the state, regional and national levels.  This applies to State Cups and Olympic Development Programs.  We also recognize those adults who have made significant contributions to youth soccer in New Jersey by honoring the inductees into the NJYS Hall of Fame, our Travel Coach of the Year, Recreation Coach of the Year, TOPSoccer Volunteer of the Year, Referees of the Year as well as several scholarship winners.

State Cups - NJYS conducts its State Cups (Presidents Cup and National Championship Series) in three separate sessions. For U11 to U14 age groups the competition is held in the fall of the seasonal year.  In the Spring of the seasonal year, the U15-U18 age groups hold their State Cups competition.  The U19s hold their National Championship competition in late May/early June.

State US Youth Soccer ODP tryouts.  NJYS begins its ODP tryouts during the summer before the start of the seasonal year.  The U13 and U14 age groups start at an area level within the state and at the end of the initial tryouts,  two initial state pools of players are selected.  The U15 through U17 age groups conduct a state wide tryout and an initial pool is selected at each age group.  Because of high school commitments and weather, the final tryouts are held in the spring of the next calendar year.  At that point a final state pool is selected and the players then have a once a week 8 week training season.  The teams have an event during the first weekend in June, the Region I ODP Tournament during the second weekend in June and the program concludes with the Regional Camps held in July.
