Our Soccer Association, (the Association) is a non-profit, (501) (c) (3) located in a major western metropolitan city. Our Mission is to teach and promote the spirit of sportsmanship, fellowship and the physical and mental heath associated with the game of soccer. We achieve our mission through the premier soccer program in our area, offering broad recreational programs available to all children regardless of ability, and elite competitive teams for the outstanding athlete. Located in a rapidly growing suburban community, we are looking for an Executive Director who can lead the Association’s operations and strategic planning and development functions.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director carries out the broad directives established by the Board and is accountable for the day-to-day administration of the Association including:
§ Demonstrating a keen understanding of financial and business principles,
§ Delivering exceptional customer service and quality of product to clients,
§ Market the services and programs of the Association,
§ Communicating with clients and the Board of Directors on a frequent basis,
§ Working closely with volunteers who will help achieve Association’s Mission,
§ Ensure that the Association is compliant with state and federal regulations and rules and regulations of our state and US Youth Soccer Associations (USYSA),
§ Overseeing the enhancement of existing recreational and competitive soccer programs and development of new ones with emphasis on promoting client growth based on current and future trends in youth sports,
§ Work with the Board of Directors to develop 1, 3 and 5 year strategic goals,
§ Translate strategic goals into specific operating and resource plans,
§ Develop and execute operational policies to support growth plans,
§ Providing the professional leadership to attract and retain a well-trained staff,
§ Develop successful working partnerships with local school and park and recreation districts,
§ Develop and execute a successful capital campaign for fields acquisition,
§ Cultivate successful relationships with high net worth benefactors of the Association, and
§ Successfully grow with one of the wealthiest and fastest growing counties in the country.
The qualified candidate has 10+ years of management experience and is a strong communicator who is highly motivated, culturally aware and has a passion for the Association’s mission. Leadership skills with a strong work ethic, engaging personality, high moral and ethical standards and the ability to inspire confidence and trust in others are all required. Prior experience with non-profit organizations and their Boards, fundraising, grant writing and youth sports or athletics are preferred.
