Constructive Soccer: Principles of Play

US Youth Soccer has released a new online coaching clinic that is free for everyone to take. The Principles of Play form the basic tactical foundation of the game, and players' understanding can be accelerated by competing in small-sided games at training; and by encouraging constructive play during matches. US Soccer Referee Grade Restructure

While US Soccer has set down the basic requirements and game levels, the US Youth Soccer State Associations have been allowed to further define these requirements and game levels to better serve the games in their State. North Texas has discussed a restructure with US Soccer and they have approved their plans for implementing the new referee grade structure. Learn more here.
 

 

Football league nixes youth participation trophies

The directors of Keller Youth Association football thought they’d teach their kids a life lesson when they decided to stop awarding participation trophies at the end of each season.
