Maryland '87 Girls seeking gold
Maryland State Youth Soccer Association’s elite female soccer stars will compete at the 2003 US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Championships beginning Friday at Plano’s Russell Creek Park in suburban Dallas, Texas. Maryland has its share of talent with forward Ashley Myers and defender Meagan Holmes, both members of the U.S. Under-16 Girls National Team. Along with midfielder Hayley Siegel, Holmes was named to the US Youth Soccer ODP All-American team for her performance with the Region I US Youth Soccer ODP team at the 2002 Thanksgiving Interregional in Boca Raton, Fla.

Ohio North has 'Wilde' card
Ohio Youth Soccer Association – North’s elite female soccer stars will compete at the 2003 US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Championships beginning Friday at Plano’s Russell Creek Park in suburban Dallas, Texas.
The Ohio North team could be the "Wilde" card of the ’87 Girls bracket. Look for three-time Region II US Youth Soccer ODP team midfielder Hanna Wilde, U.S. U-17 Women’s National Team midfielder Courtney Rosen, and forward Caitlin O’Hara to help pace the attack.

North Carolina '87 Girls preview
North Carolina’s elite will compete at the 2003 US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Championships beginning Friday at Plano’s Russell Creek Park in suburban Dallas, Texas.
North Carolina will have two teams competing at this weekend’s event as the North Carolina ’85 Boys team, led by Firman freshman and U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team forward Josh Villalobos, returns to the event after finishing second in 2001. The boys’ semifinal match-up with Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association kicks off at 5:30 p.m. CT.

Illinois '85 Boys seeking first title
Illinois Youth Soccer’s 1985 Boys will compete at the 2003 US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Championships to be played March 14 and 16 at Plano’s Russell Creek Park in suburban Dallas, Texas. The team boasts five players from the Region II US Youth Soccer ODP squad that recently competed at the Torneio Águas de Lindóia de Futebol Internacional (Futuro Cup) in São Paulo, Brazil, including midfielder Matt Wieclaw. Goalkeeper Cole Glassner also has international experience with US Youth Soccer ODP as he helped the Region II team win the Mito Mayor’s Cup by stopping six penalty kicks in three shootouts last spring in Japan. Both Wieclaw and Glassner played for the Chicago Magic team that lost in the 2002 SNICKERSÒ US Youth Soccer U-17 Boys National Championship match.

A lopsided loss in a championship match can instill a sense of unfinished business. The North Carolina Youth Soccer Association 1985 Boys’ road to a rematch with the team that beat them 5-1 two years ago at the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program National Championships continues when the 2003 event kicks off Friday at Plano’s Russell Creek Park in suburban Dallas, Texas.

Michigan State Youth Soccer Association’s top Under-16 soccer stars will travel to Texas when the 1987 Boys bracket debuts at the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Championships on Friday at Plano’s Russell Creek Park in suburban Dallas.
Michigan has always been represented at the US Youth Soccer ODP National Championships since the inaugural event in 2000. The Michigan ’82 and ’83 Girls teams brought home gold in 2000 and 2001, respectively, but the 2002 event marked the first time a team from Michigan did not play in the title match

Florida loaded with top US Youth Soccer ODP talent
Florida Youth Soccer Association’s top Under-16 soccer stars will travel to Texas when the 1987 Boys bracket debuts at the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Championships on Friday at Plano’s Russell Creek Park in suburban Dallas.
The last Florida team to qualify for the US Youth Soccer ODP National Championships was the Florida ’85 Girls that finished fourth in 2001.

EPYSA '85 Boys poised to take title
Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association’s elite will compete at the 2003 US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Championships to be played March 14 and 16 at Russell Creek Park in suburban Dallas, Texas. The two teams that played in the 2001 ’85 Boys championship match - California Youth Soccer Association - South and North Carolina Youth Soccer Association - both return for the 2003 event. Illinois Youth Soccer completes the ’85 Boys bracket. Eastern Pennsylvania faces a roadblock when it plays North Carolina on Friday at 5:30 p.m. CT. North Carolina is hungry for a rematch with Cal South after falling 5-1 in the 2001 final. With such U.S. Youth National Team pool players as midfielders Jeff Chambers and Dave Brown and goalkeeper Jason Landers, Eastern Pennsylvania may put North Carolina’s rematch plans on hold.

Georgia '85 Girls set
Georgia’s elite girls soccer stars will compete at the 2003 US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Championships to be played March 14 and 16 at Russell Creek Park in suburban Dallas, Texas.
Although new to the US Youth Soccer ODP National Championships, five Georgia players are no strangers to playing for championships as their Gwinnett Soccer Association’s Phoenix ’85 Red team won the 2001 SNICKERSÒ US Youth Soccer U-17 Girls National Championship and finishing third in 2002.

Illinois Youth Soccer’s 1985 Girls team returns to the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Championships to be played March 14 and 16 at Russell Creek Park in suburban Dallas, Texas. Illinois, along with the ‘85 Girls teams from New Jersey State Youth Soccer Association and California Youth Soccer Association – South, returns to the US Youth Soccer ODP National Championships with a mission to avenge a 1-0 loss to Cal-South in the final of the 2001 US Youth ODP National Championships.

New Jersey '85 Girls looking for rematch
The New Jersey State Youth Soccer Association 1985 Girls team returns to the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Championships beginning Friday at Russell Creek Park in suburban Dallas, Texas. New Jersey will be joined by the US Youth Soccer ODP ’85 Girls teams from Illinois Youth Soccer, Georgia Youth Soccer Association, and California Youth Soccer Association – South. During the semifinals of the 2001 event, Cal-South rallied to beat New Jersey 2-1 in overtime before beating Illinois 1-0 for the championship.

U.S. Soccer to host symposium
U.S. Soccer will host an invitation-only National "C" License Instructor’s Course in conjunction with the 2003 US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program National Championships. The two-day course, which will be held at the University of Texas – Dallas in Richardson, Texas, will be conducted Friday at 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. The US Youth Soccer ODP National Championships begin on the Friday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 8 a.m. at Russell Creek Park in Plano. By being held in conjunction with the US Youth Soccer ODP National Championships, the coaching course provides U.S. Soccer the opportunity to develop it’s programming and coaching development around high-level games.

'85 Girls Preview
US Youth Soccer’s elite will compete at the 2003 US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Championships to be played March 14 and 16 at Plano’s Russell Creek Park in suburban Dallas, Texas. State Association–level US Youth Soccer ODP Boys and Girls teams in the 1985 and 1987 age groups will play semi-final matches on Friday, March 14, beginning at 1 p.m., with championship and consolation matches being played Sunday, March 16 beginning at 8 a.m. The 1985 Girls teams from New Jersey State Youth Soccer Association, Illinois Youth Soccer and California Youth Soccer Association – South (Cal-South) all return to the US Youth Soccer ODP National Championships after competing in the 2001 event in Las Vegas. Cal-South rallied to beat New Jersey 2-1 in overtime of the 2001 semifinals before beating Illinois 1-0 for the championship.

After winning the ’85 Boys bracket in 2001, the team from Cal-South gets it’s chance to carry on a tradition when the 2003 US Youth Soccer ODP National Championships kick off Friday, March 14 at Plano’s Russell Creek Park in suburban Dallas, Texas.

The ‘87 Boys bracket includes teams from California Youth Soccer Association – South, New Jersey State Youth Soccer Association, Florida Youth Soccer Association, and Michigan State Youth Soccer Association.

The next generation of U.S. Soccer National Team stars takes the field tomorrow when the 2003 US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Championships kick off Friday at Plano’s Russell Creek Park in suburban Dallas, Texas. The 1987 age group makes its first appearance at this year’s event with teams from California Youth Soccer Association – South, Maryland State Youth Soccer Association, North Carolina Youth Soccer Association, and Ohio Youth Soccer Association – North. Semifinal games for the ’87 Girls bracket kick off tomorrow when Ohio North and Cal-South play at 1 p.m. CT and Maryland meets North Carolina at 3 p.m. CT. State Association–level US Youth Soccer ODP Boys and Girls teams in the 1985 and 1987 age groups will play semi-final matches on Friday, March 14, beginning at 1 p.m., with championship and consolation matches being played Sunday, March 16 beginning at 8 a.m. The teams competing in the tournament qualified for the event by winning their respective division at their Regional tournament.

Cal South, Arizona earn Region IV titles
Teams representing California Youth Soccer Association – South (Cal South) returned to glory by winning four of six titles at the 2003 Region IV US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program Championships at the Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex in Las Vegas.
