Financial Specialist | Florida Youth Soccer Association


The Finance Specialist is a full-time accounting position for Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA).  FYSA is a non-profit (501.c.3) organization with a current membership base of over 100,000 registered youth players and 25,000 active coaches and administrators throughout the network of over 270 local member organizations across the state. The position will reside in the FYSA Headquarters in Auburndale, FL.


The Finance Specialist reports to the Executive Director with oversight to the FYSA Treasurer and is responsible for the following, which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Calculate, prepare, and issue invoices and account statements according to established procedures 
  • Manage the general ledger
  • Enter and reconcile third party payment and pay roll information
  • Maintain all records compatible with audit requirements
  • Operate accounting software to record, store, and analyze data
  • Perform full banking functions and reconciliations both manually and online to include cash, checks, and credit card payments
  • Compile budget data and documents that is based on estimated revenues/expenses and previous budgets for the propose financial statements issued to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors
  • Comply with state, federal, and company policies and procedures
  • Interface with all vendors
  • Prepare yearly IRS Form 1099’s for contract employees 


Required Qualifications and Desired Skills:

  • Bachelors’ degree preferred in accounting or finance
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Demonstrated ability in a Microsoft environment, which includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in all aspects of the QuickBooks account system
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret written financial documents   
  • Must pass a background check
  • A soccer background is desirable but not required
  • Ability to meet physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the organizations operations
