Director of Coaching | Louisiana Dynamo Juniors
Louisiana Dynamo Juniors (LDJ) is a youth soccer club founded in 2010, based in Lafayette, La that has provided soccer programs for children from 5-18, including recreational soccer, academy and travel soccer in a new and up coming area. LDJ offers the most comprehensive youth soccer programming in Louisiana. We are proud to have grown over 150% in the last 3 years.
LDJ is seeking a full time Director of Coaching ("DOC") to oversee all current programs. We are seeking a DOC to lead us in next phase in the growth and development of this successful soccer organization, including the rebuilding of our academy program. The DOC will directly supervise the coaching and development of staff and players in all programs and will have responsibility for ensuring consistency with the clubs’ coaching philosophy.
The DOC will be required to identify and recruit new coaches, review and approve coaching assignments, and coordinate coaching development. The DOC will oversee and supervise all player development initiatives including organizing and supervising travel tryouts, approving team league and tournament selections and developing opportunities for our most talented players. The DOC will report to our General Manager, work with Technical, Academy and Recreational Directors.
Requirements/ Personal Characteristics
The successful candidate should have significant soccer coaching experience, preferably in a youth environment, with requisite qualifications (college or equivalent playing experience preferred). Will need coaching qualifications equivalent to a USSF B license and over 3 years on club soccer experience.
We seek someone who has inter-personal skills that would generate respect and build strong long term relationships with a wide range of club constituencies: the Board, coaching staff, parents and children.
The candidate needs to be an excellent communicator, a listener and collaborator. Self-assured and confident, this person should not be strident or egocentric. The candidate needs to be diplomatic and sufficiently focused yet flexible, practical and pragmatic, operating with utmost integrity.
