2013-14 National League Las Vegas Preview: U-15 Girls

U15G_Standings

Blue Division

One of the top two spots is filled in the Under-15 Blue Division, as Futura Academy Forte (MO) ended its season with 15 points. However, the Missouri side will have to wait until the games in Las Vegas are finished to see if it will finish at the top of the standings. Meanwhile, the teams in the middle of the table have some work to do if they want to jump to the top.

Notable teams

Eastside FC 98 Red (WA) — The defending US Youth Soccer National Champions have a chance to overtake Futura and claim the top spot in the group, but it won’t be easy.

Beadling Bulldogs (PA-W) — Beadling needs to win all three games to have a chance at a top-two finish.

*Futura Academy Forte (MO) — Futura did enough in Orlando to clinch a spot in the National Championships, but it will have to see if it can hold on for the division title.

*BRYC 98 Elite (VA) — BRYC is currently in second place and has a five-point edge over Eastside. It will need some help from Eastside’s opponents to finish as the Blue Division runner-up.

*Team has completed all seven games and will not be playing in Las Vegas.

Game to watch

March 21, Beadling Bulldogs (PA-W) vs. Eastside FC 98 Red (WA)
The only two teams in contention for a ticket to the National Championships meet on the first day of play in Las Vegas. A win for Eastside would make a top-two finish likely while ending Beadling’s hopes. If the Pennsylvania side can earn a victory, it would still have a chance to qualify for Nationals.

Red Division

The Under-15 Red Division is one of the closest in the entire league, as just four points separate the first and sixth-place teams entering the final weekend. None of the teams that finished their seasons in Orlando were able to separate themselves from the pack, so it’s likely that the two qualifiers for the National Championships will be teams playing in Las Vegas.

Notable teams

YMS Premier Xplosion 98 (E-PA) — The 2013 National Championship finalists are just one point out of first place with three games to pass the idle group leader.

Tophat 17 Gold (GA) — Tophat is currently tied for fourth place with eight points. With three of the teams around it already finished with their seasons, the Georgia side could separate itself with a couple of wins.

Pride Predators 99 (CO) — The Colorado side is currently in sixth place, but it has a real possibility of playing its way into the top two when the standings are finalized.

*Jacksonville FC 98-99 Elite (FL) — Jacksonville is currently in first but will need some luck to end up in the top two.

*Team has completed all seven games and will not be playing in Las Vegas.

Game to watch

March 22, Pride Predators 99 (CO) vs. Tophat 17 Gold (GA)
YMS has a little room for error compared to the other teams playing in Las Vegas, but these two squads can’t afford to drop many points. That fact makes this matchup very important as the Predators and Tophat aim to secure a second-place finish and possibly more.
