2013-14 National League Las Vegas Preview: U-18 Girls

Blue Division

Four of the top five teams in the Under-18 Blue Division will be playing in Las Vegas. Beach FC Ingrassia (CA-S) enters the final weekend of play with a perfect 4-0-0 record and will have the advantage of playing close to home. The teams chasing Beach FC all have much longer trips and must settle in quick during the final three games.

Notable teams

Beach FC Ingrassia (CA-S) — After winning all four games in North Carolina, Beach FC controls its own fate as it enters the final weekend with a two-point advantage in the standings.

Cleveland United White (OH-N) — The defending US Youth Soccer National Champions are in second with 10 points. Cleveland will need to have success in Las Vegas to hold off PDA Ginga (NJ).

PDA Ginga (NJ) — PDA is just one point behind Cleveland entering the season’s final weekend. The New Jersey side got off to a hot start, but dropped its final game in North Carolina.

Match Fit Academy FC United (NJ) — Though it has just seven points, Match Fit still has the chance to finish in the top two. It will likely need three wins in Las Vegas to accomplish that feat.

Game to watch

March 23, Cleveland United White (OH-N) vs. Beach FC Ingrassia (CA-S)
All games in Las Vegas will influence the top of the standings, but this game on the final day may be the one that determines the division title. Beach FC has the two-point edge entering the weekend, but Cleveland has experience in pressure-filled games from its National Championship run last year.

Red Division

One of the top two spots in the Red Division are secured, as BRYC 95 Elite (VA) went 6-0-1 and tied the National League team scoring record with 26 goals. The second ticket to the National Championships will be earned by one of the teams playing Las Vegas, but it may take all three days to determine which side will be the one celebrating a trip to Germantown, Md.

Notable teams

Match Fit Beat (NJ) — Match Fit is the only team that can still contend for the division title. It will need three wins and a lot of goals to have a chance at the goal differential tiebreaker.

Legends 95 (CA-S) — The California side is just one point behind Match Fit and has shown some offensive firepower so far this season.

Kings Hammer Academy Red (OH-S) — KHA has a shot at second place, but face tough odds.

*BRYC 95 Elite (VA) — BRYC has secured a spot in the National Championships and will likely be the division winner when the games are completed in Las Vegas.

*Team has completed all seven games and will not be playing in Las Vegas.

Game to watch

March 21, Match Fit Beat (NJ) vs. Legends 95 (CA-S)
These two teams are fighting for the one remaining automatic berth to the National Championships. Just one point separates them heading into Las Vegas, and this matchup on the opening day of play will decide whether Match Fit or Legends controls its own fate.
