Washington Youth Soccer and Seattle Sounders FC have partnered up to host a soccer equipment and cash donation drive on Sunday, August 16 at 12:30pm, prior to the Sounders FC vs Orlando City match at CenturyLink Field. Volunteers will be collecting new and gently used soccer gear and equipment and cash donations at all entrances of the stadium.
All donations will support our Soccer for Success program.
Soccer for Success is the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s innovative youth development program that uses soccer as a tool to combat childhood obesity and promote healthy lifestyles for children in low-income urban communities. Soccer for Success uses sport for social change and strives to address the holistic needs of under-served children. The program provides free after-school soccer programs to over 500 children in 13 elementary schools in the Highline, Kent, and Auburn school districts.
The most needed soccer gear and equipment includes the following:
• Soccer cones
• Shin guards
• Soccer shoes/cleats (youth sizes preferred)

About U.S. Soccer Foundation
The U.S. Soccer Foundation is a leader in sports-based youth development and is using soccer as a vehicle for social change among urban youth. U.S. Soccer Foundation provides nationally recognized programs that are proven to deliver positive health and social outcomes. Their innovative, accessible and affordable initiatives offer safe, urban environments in which both boys and girls thrive. Since 2002, the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Passback® Program has collected and redistributed over 900,000 pieces of soccer equipment to children in underserved communities. Thanks to dedicated individuals, soccer clubs, and organizations that collect and donate soccer equipment, the Passback program is able to bring the game of soccer to children who love the sport, but don’t have the resources to play.
