TUKWILA, Wash. (September 4, 2014) – Washington Youth Soccer and Seattle Sounders FC have partnered up to host a soccer equipment drive on Saturday, September 27, prior to the Chivas USA match at CenturyLink Field. Volunteers will be collecting new and gently used soccer gear and equipment and cash donations at all entrances of the stadium.
All donations will support our Soccer for Success program.
Soccer for Success is the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s innovative youth development program that uses soccer as a tool to combat childhood obesity and promote healthy lifestyles for children in low-income urban communities. Soccer for Success uses sport for social change and strives to address the holistic needs of under-served children. The program provides free after-school soccer programs to over 500 children in elementary schools in the Highline, Tukwila, Kent, and Auburn school districts.
The most needed soccer gear and equipment includes the following:
• Soccer cones
• Shin guards
• Soccer shoes/cleats (youth sizes preferred)
