We are excited to inform you that Spokane Shadow, Three Rivers Soccer Club, and Washington Youth Soccer have created an Elite Player Development (EPD) program specifically for Eastern Washington.

Washington Elite Player Development (WA EPD) serves an identification program for opportunities with U.S. Soccer National Teams and Regional Teams, and mimics the National Team system by bringing together the top players from club programs to train and compete. In the last two years more than 20 WA Youth Soccer EPD players have been called into U.S. Youth National Team camps. The EPD program seeks to create a world class learning and development environment that shares the values and vision of U.S. Soccer, U.S. Youth Soccer, and Washington Youth Soccer.

The EPD program works to achieve sustainability as well as constantly improve throughout the structure which develops youth players so they realize their capabilities and full potential. WA EPD recognized a need to provide more and extensive training opportunities for the many talented players in EWA to better service all players across the state and to increase state-wide level of play within Region IV and ultimately our U.S. National Teams and professional teams. Seattle is unique in that we have direct access to two professional first teams, Seattle Sounders FC and Seattle Reign FC. The EPD program in particular has partnerships with both programs including staff as well exclusive training opportunities.

EWA EPD will work in conjunction with WA Youth Soccer EPD. WA EPD is a member of the Region IV Olympic Development Program. As a member of the Olympic Development Program, players have access to regional events, regional camps, and regional teams. Many of the state, regional, and national events have college/regional/national coaches either on staff and/or scouting

Players who make the Eastern WA EPD pool for 2003 & 2004 birth years will have monthly training with elite coaches in Eastern WA, attend a camp at Starfire Sports in Tukwila in June and take part in a July Exchange Event in Eastern Washington. Pools for older age groups will also be launching later this summer – look for more information being announced in June!
