Washington Youth Soccer Of the Year Award Winners Announced

Washington Youth Soccer is proud to announce the 2016 Of the Year award winners who will represent Washington at the Regional level. The Of the Year Awards are Washington Youth Soccer’s annual awards to recognize outstanding individuals in the following categories: Administrator, Boys Competitive Coach, Boys Recreation Coach, Girls Competitive Coach, Girls Recreation Coach, TOPSoccer Coach, and Volunteer.


These award winners join a prestigious tradition of Washington Youth Soccer Alumni who have made an impact on our soccer community, and will be honored at the Washington Youth Soccer 50th Anniversary Gala on September 9, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue.

Administrator of the Year: Jeff Smalley (Tumwater Soccer Club/Thurston County Youth Soccer Association)

Boys Competitive Coach of the Year: Kevin Skinner (Kitsap Alliance FC/Northwest Sound Youth Soccer Association)

Boys Recreation Coach of the Year: Tommy Burley (Vancouver United/Southwest Washington Youth Soccer Association)

Girls Competitive Coach of the Year: Mitchell James (Kitsap Alliance FC/Northwest Sound Youth Soccer Association)

Girls Recreation Coach of the Year: Joseph Matthews (Northshore Youth Soccer Association)

TOPSoccer Coach of the Year: Linda Kautz (Snohomish TOPSoccer)

Volunteer of the Year: Brian Cregg (Thurston County Youth Soccer Association)


Individuals are nominated at the local level in each state, with these state winners advancing to regional consideration; regional winners will comprise the ballot for national honors, which will be selected by the US Youth Soccer Board of Directors.
