Washington Premier FC B00 and B02 are competing in the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Championships, the oldest and most prestigious youth soccer championship, July 24-29 in Frisco, TX.  Both teams qualified by winning their division of the US Youth Soccer National League, making it three teams in two years that WPFC has sent to Nationals via the National League.

U18 Boys:  WPFC B00 Black  2-0  Davie United Sharks (FL)

After a scoreless first half that saw both Washington Premier 2000 Black and South Region champions Davie United Sharks 2000 Blue (FL) register opportunities, Washington Premier forward Ethan Carlson broke the scoreless stalemate in the 60th minute by heading in a cross from the left side. Dane Helle would secure the victory in the closing minutes with a goal of his own as the match ended 2-0. Washington Premier finds itself alone at the top of Group A and will play National League Blue champions West Coast FC Armour 2000 (CA-S) tomorrow.

U16 Boys:  WPFC B02 Black  2-2  Tuzos Academy 02 (AZ)

Donovan Allen got Washington Premier 2002 Black off to dream start when he headed in Logan Oyama’s cross from the left flank just four minutes into its match against 2017 National Championships finalists Tuzos Academy 02 (AZ). However, Tuzos would equalize in the 13th minute and go ahead with a second goal early in the second half. Braedan Pryor, who tied for third in the National League with seven goals in six games, would return the match to a draw in the 62nd minute when he slipped in a shot from the right side of the box. Washington Premier would come close to a game-winner several times, but ultimately the match ended 2-2. Washington Premier will play defending National Champions Solar 02 Stricker tomorrow.
