The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Become a Referee

There are two entry level classes: one for students that are U15 as of January 1st of the current year, and one for those who are 15 years of age or older.

There is no minimum or maximum age to become a referee. Students will need to be able to pass the online class and participate in the classroom and field training.

  • Gr08 Entry Level Content: The students are taught all of the Laws of the Game at a level appropriate for beginning referees officiating youth soccer at younger age groups. There is an online Laws of the Game session and an eight-hour weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) session in the classroom and on the field and a final exam. All online content must be completed before attending the class.

The total cost is $90. All fees are paid up front and are non-refundable.

A basic starter kit including a uniform, whistle, flags and notebook – everything you will need except for shoes, a watch and pencil – costs less than $60 and is available from several online vendors. The total cost will be about $150.
