2010 Indiana State Cup & Challenge Cup Sites Named

Indianapolis, IN (December 3, 2009) -- Indiana Youth Soccer has announced the host sites for the Indiana State Cup & Indiana Challenge Cup tournaments to be held in May and June 2010.

The US Youth Soccer National Championship Series Indiana State Cup will begin with preliminary rounds May 14-16, 2010, and include over 3,000 players from the state’s top teams in the U13-U19 age groups. The preliminary round host sites for the 2010 Indiana State Cup include: 

  • Goebel Park in Evansville, Indiana (Hosted by Evansville Soccer Club)
  • Kreager Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana  (Hosted by FWUSA Citadel)
  • Shamrock Springs Fields in Westfield, Indiana  (Hosted by Westfield Youth Soccer Association)

The Indiana Challenge Cup series is a state championship event open to all U11-U17 travel and rec plus teams in Indiana which will serve more than 350 teams and over 4,000 players. Preliminary rounds for the tournament are scheduled for May 21-23 and will be hosted by:

  • Goebel Park in Evansville, Indiana  (Hosted by SWISA)
  • Invaders Complex in South Bend, Indiana  (Hosted by Indiana Invaders)
  • Hefner Fields in Fort Wayne, Indiana  (Hosted by Fort Wayne Fever Academy)
  • Richard Wigh Soccer Complex in Columbus, Indiana (Hosted by Columbus Express)

The finals for both the 2010 Indiana State Cup and the Indiana Challenge Cup will be held June 11-13 at Lawrence Park in Indianapolis, Indiana, hosted by FC Pride.The US Youth Soccer National Championship Series Indiana State Cup Champions will qualify to participate with more than 190 top boys and girls US Youth Soccer teams from 14 state associations competing for regional titles in respective age groups, June 26-30 at the US Youth Soccer Region II Regional Championships in Dayton, Ohio. 

Regional winners of the Under-14 through Under-19 brackets earn a berth at the 2010 US Youth Soccer National Championships to be played July 20-25 in Overland Park, Kansas. Admission to the US Youth Soccer Indiana Youth Soccer State Cup/Championship is free.
