Back to News A SOCCER PLAYER CONTRIBUTES FOR A GOOD CAUSE April 22, 2011 09:47 PM TOPSoccer DONATION CAMPAIGN Gabby LaMere, ODP 95, has chosen TOPSoccer to be the focus for her community service. Gabby attends Guerin Catholic High School, where, as part of their curriculum, students are required to perform 30 community service hours each year. Gabby’s Varsity high school coach at Guerin, Jonathan McClure (ODP 98 Girls Staff), also highly encourages and requires his players to give back to their community. Having worked with children with all types of disabilities in different sports programs in the past, Gabby has seen firsthand how little the programs have in regards to uniforms, cleats and equipment. “Their excitement and smile on their faces when you give them something just brings so much joy to everyone all the way around.” LaMere said. As part of her campaign, Gabby will set up donation containers at the ODP session on Saturday, May 7th at the Lawerence fields. They will be clearly marked with TOPSoccer Donation signs. Monetary donations are also being accepted. These exceptional athletes would most certainly love new items too. Monetary donations big or small can be given or sent to: Indiana Soccer Attn. Joy Carter 5440 Herbert Lord Road Indianapolis, IN 46216. Checks can be made payable to Indiana Soccer TOPSoccer. Indiana Soccer TOPSoccer committee and staff would like to thank Gabby for her efforts in not only helping to obtain equipment and money for the program, but also the awareness of TOPSoccer that will occur due to her endeavor.
