ODP 2000
“An Introduction to the Olympic Development Program”
Indiana Soccer is excited to introduce “ODP 2000: An Introduction to the Olympic Development Program” for the 2010-2011 ODP season.   The US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program was formed in 1977 to identify a pool of players in each age group from which a National Team will be selected for international competition and to provide high-level training to benefit and enhance the development of players at all levels.
“ODP 2000: An Introduction to the Olympic Development Program” is designed to be an introduction for young players born in the year 2000 into the ODP System and training environment that they will encounter in future years.   “ODP 2000” will be conducted around the state in the North, Central, and South Regions in late fall and early spring, as well as one come together event in June.   This is purely a developmental age group with the opportunity to train and play with the best players in one’s age group as well as receive quality instruction from Nationally Licensed Coaches. Since this is an introduction into the process no State Team will be formed, no outside competition will occur, and this group will not travel to Regional Camp. Players born in 2000 will begin this process and attend Regional Camp in 2011-2012.
Coaching Staff
The Leadership of the “ODP 2000” Program will be led by two outstanding individuals who are at the forefront in soccer development within the State of Indiana and in the country. These two Directors of “ODP 2000” will also be joined by an outstanding staff at each site.

The “ODP 2000” schedule will be divided into three programming phases throughout the year. Phase 1 will happen during the late fall (Oct. 30 – Nov. 21, 2010) with one session in South Region, 2 sessions in the North Region, and 3 sessions in the Central Region. Phase 2 will happen during the early spring (Feb. 26 – March 13, 2011) with two sessions each in the South, North, and Central Regions. Phase 3 will be a come together event for all “ODP 2000” participants at one site on June 18th in Indianapolis (Lawrence Park). The come together event will also be in conjunction with the older age groups so the “ODP 2000” participants can truly experience what ODP will be like the following year and in years to come.

“ODP 2000” training sessions will last for 1.5 hours and will be a combination of technical training, small sided games, and an age appropriate game at the end. There will be no specialized goalkeeper training as all players are expected to play all positions.
The training curriculum will be developed based on age appropriate themes, developing an understanding of qualities necessary to be successful at the next level, and inspiring creativity both on the ball and within the game.
Registration and Cost
Registration for each date and site will be by a reservation system. The first 60 players per gender registered and paid at each site and date will reserve their spot in the upcoming session. To reserve your spot you need to go to Indiana Soccer (, hover over the ODP Tab (at top of page) and then click on State Pool to find the registration links for each of the ODP 2000 dates. You can register for as many sessions in the fall as you like but you must click on each date to register for each session.   Once each date hits 60 paid registrations (per gender) the session will be closed and the link shut down. This is to insure there is a player to coach ratio of 12 to 1.
The cost per session will be $15.00 each. Each player who attends “ODP 2000” will receive a numbered T-Shirt which they keep to wear at all sessions they attend.
2011-2012 ODP State Pool for the 2000’s (Future Opportunities)
“ODP 2000” is the introductory program into the Olympic Development Program.   Following the June 18, 2011 (Phase 3) “Come Together Event” for the 2000’s, players will be invited to be part of the initial State Pool for the 2000 Birth Year for the 2011-2012 ODP Year. Basically any player who has participated in the “ODP 2000” program will be eligible for consideration for the initial State Pool in 2011-2012. This will simply be the starting point for the 2000 Developmental Age Group State Pool who will participate in the year round program and have the opportunity to attend Regional Camp in July of 2012. Players not named to this initial State Pool will still have opportunities to enter the 2000 State Pool during the calendar year 2011-2012 through District Training and the Olympic Development Scouting Program.
