Indiana Soccer was pleased to introduce the Junior Olympians Festival at Grand Park this past weekend to give both U10 and U11 travel players the opportunity to experience what it is to be part of the Indiana Olympic Development Program (ODP).
The ODP festival combined the opportunity for U10 and U11 boys and girls club teams to participate as well as individual registrations to play with Junior Olympians house teams. The inaugural event included club teams from Carmel FC, Delaware County FC, Greenfield SC, Hoosier FC, Indiana Fire Juniors, Lawrence SC, Score, St. Francis, and Zionsville Youth Soccer Association as well as 51 players from around the state, forming 5 house teams. Players also participated in a series of fun and friendly activities that focused on skillful play, quality matchups, and the purity of the Beautiful Game while promoting individual player development with match play supplemented by skill challenges. Aside from this, players had the opportunity to be exposed to a social setting with other players of the same age and similar interests.
