State Pool Training is the highest level of advancement within Indiana and is by invitation only. State Pool Training focuses on the continuation of technical development as it applies to the tactical application of the game, problem solving, and speed of play in a higher and more challenging environment. The Indiana Olympic Development Program goals are to provide for the unfolding of ideas about the game of soccer, to provide the players confidence and ideas to solve problems the game presents them, and to provide opportunities for the gradual growth and advancement through challenging, creative, and positive training and playing environments. The Indiana Olympic Development Program would like to extend an invitation to all high school age players born in 1996, 1995, and 1994 to attend an open evaluation period for consideration to the State Pool in their respective age group. The open evaluation period will occur on the following two State Pool Training dates: Oct. 31 and Nov. 21, 2010 at Lawrence Park located on the east side of Indianapolis, Indiana. The cost to participate in this evaluation period is a one-time fee of $40.00 which includes both training dates as well as a distinct numbered T-Shirt for each player for identification purposes. Players may attend one or both dates for consideration for the State Pool. Participating players will participate in the State Pool training for their respective age group to be evaluated with and against the current State Pool players in each age group through training and playing. If a player is selected to be invited to join the State Pool following the evaluation period, the cost ($40.00) of the evaluation period will be deducted from the State Pool Fee for Phase 2. Phase 2 of the Indiana Olympic Development Program will run from October 31, 2010 through February, 2011. If invited to Phase 2, the player will be required to pay the remaining balance for Phase 2 ($80.00) as well as purchase a pool kit ($60.00) which includes a red numbered training uniform jersey, a long sleeved numbered training top, shorts, and socks.
