Indiana State Cup Kicks Off This Weekend

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (May 14, 2010) –
Indiana Soccer (formerly Indiana Youth Soccer) will host more than 2700 players from 184 teams as they compete in the US Youth Soccer Indiana State Cup preliminaries to be played this weekend at three host sites across the state. This will be the first of three legs in the National Championship Series.
The 2010 preliminary round host sites for the Indiana State Cup include:
Fort Wayne - Kreager Park - FW USA Citadel
Westfield - Shamrock Fields - Westfield Youth Soccer Association
Evansville - Goebel Park - Evansville Soccer Club
The tournament features boys and girls competitive teams ranging in age from Under-14 to Under-19.    The Indiana State Cup preliminary round winners will advance to the finals weekend to be held in Lawrence, Indiana on June 12-13, 2010.
The US Youth Soccer National Championship Series Indiana State Cup Champions will qualify to participate with more than 190 top boys and girls US Youth Soccer teams from 14 state associations competing for their regional titles in seven age groups, June 26-30 at the US Youth Soccer Region II Regional Championships in Dayton, Ohio. Regional winners of the Under-14 through Under-19 brackets earn a berth at the 2010 US Youth Soccer National Championships to be played July 20-25 in Overland Park, Kansas.
Admission to the US Youth Soccer Indiana Soccer State Cup is free.
