U.S. U-20s HEADING TO SPAIN FOR TOURNAMENT IN LA MANGA, SPAIN

After a training camp in Chula Vista, Calif., the U-20 Women’s National Team will head to Spain to play in La Manga to play against the U-20 Teams from Norway, Sweden and England. The four-team tournament will runs from March 4 to March 8.
Of the 24 players that US-20 Head Coach Dave Chesler brought to California for the camp, 14 will head to La Manga. An additional 4 players who have previously trained with the U-20s, including Mandy Laddish from Notre Dame; current National Champions.  The other three players joining the team have yet to be announced.
One of the 14 players from the California camp that will head to La Manga includes the former Fort Wayne Fever player, Sarah Killion (IN ODP 92), who currently plays for UCLA.
“Just this past Saturday night at the U-20 National Team training camp at the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center, I was told that I made the team that was going to be attending the tournament in La Manga, Spain this coming Monday. It was amazing what flashed through my mind within the next ten minutes”, Sarah Killion, former Fort Wayne Fever player said. “Next Monday I will leave for La Manga, Spain to play for the U-20 National Team, which consists of 18 players. Though, I do not have the schedule yet, I know that we will be playing Sweden and Norway and probably two other teams. I will be gone for ten days. I am so excited to be able to play for the US and have my first caps as a US player!”
Sarah started playing soccer in a very early age. “I have been with the coaches of the Fort Wayne Fever since I was eight years old. Matt Chura and Scott Hunter; (Bo) were my coaches and Bobby Poursanidis was always looking out for me”, Sarah said.
