Introducing Affinity Sports 2.0 Webinar Registration Information

On June 1st, 2017 the CORI Request process was merged with the Adult Registration process and is now the Adult/CORI Registration.

  • Adult/CORI Registration - Adults will simultaneously complete the Mass Youth Soccer Adult Registration, registration to their local organization and CORI submission request processes through a single registration portal.
  • New CORI Expire Date: The CORI Approved expiration date was changed to include a one-year grace period in which the adult is required to complete a new CORI Request. This will ensure that the adult receives a full three-year CORI Approval from Mass youth Soccer Assoc.  More information on this can be found in the Fall 2017 Start-up Memo located on the left-hand side of this page.

Detailed instructions on the new procedures can be found at: ADULT/CORI REGISTRATION.

For Mass Youth Soccer to process your member’s CORI Requests; they MUST be accounted for on your organization's Fee Submission file as an affiliated member and have completed their Mass Youth Soccer Adult/CORI Registration.

The Criminal Offender Record Information (“CORI”) laws and regulations in Massachusetts were first enacted in the early 1970s. While they have and continue to undergo a number of changes and developments, their primary focus remains intact. CORI is designed to protect the general public from exposure to potentially dangerous individuals with a criminal past. Organizations that serve vulnerable segments of the population such as Massachusetts Youth Soccer are given limited access to information about prospective coaches, administrators, volunteers and employees who may have a serious criminal history and who may pose a significant threat to the children involved in youth soccer across the state. The agency that oversees criminal background checks in the Commonwealth is the Department of Criminal Justice Information Services (DCJIS).

This web page is designed to help clarify the policies and procedures Massachusetts Youth Soccer and all our affiliated organizations MUST follow when conducting criminal background checks.

CORI Submitter

Each youth soccer organization is required to identify a CORI submitter, and Massachusetts Youth Soccer will qualify that person under the State CORI Office guidelines. CORI Submitters will be responsible, along with their organization’s registrars, for making sure all adults involved in their program are properly registered and CORI checked.  Hence, each club or team will have one qualified CORI submitter who will be responsible for collecting every adult's CORI Acknowledgement form and verify identity. Instructions and forms for how to become a CORI Submitter can be found by clicking on the links in the left rail.
