The US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional League wrapped up this past weekend, and the winners of the Under-14 through Under-17 Boys and Girls Premier Divisions have earned automatic qualification into the prestigious US Youth Soccer National League for the 2013-2014 season.

US Youth Soccer is among nine national sports organizations invited to participate in a roundtable discussion about youth sports safety, sponsored by the National Football League. The gathering will take place at NFL Headquarters in New York City on Tuesday, June 11, and will be open to invited media bloggers.

The US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional League (MRL) announced an innovative competition platform within the MRL featuring teams from two Major League Soccer youth clubs and their affiliate premier youth soccer clubs in the Midwest. The Pro Youth Clubs Affiliates Division will be operated under the umbrella of the MRL but will be conducted outside of the current three-tier structure of the league. Only MLS youth clubs and their affiliates are eligible to compete in this new division.

The US Youth Soccer Region III (South) Championships will be held as scheduled June 20-27 in Edmond, Okla. There are several ways players, coaches and families can donate to the disaster relief effort in Oklahoma.

The US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional League (MRL) has announced changes for 2013-2014, refining its levels of competition into a three-tier structure consisting of Premier I, Premier II and First Divisions, and creating a revised Premier I Division qualification competition for the Under-13 and Under-14 age groups during the 2013 Fall Season.

The US Youth Soccer Far West Regional League has redesigned the league structure for the upcoming 2013-2014 season to consist of three geographical divisions. The Far West Regional League serves as the premier league competition for teams in the Under-13 through Under-18 age groups in Region IV and the restructured league format will better serve teams seeking meaningful and competitive league play.

The 2013 US Youth Soccer Region I Premier League champions were decided this past weekend, and the winners of the Under-13 Boys and Girls and both finalists of the Under-14 through Under-17 Boys and Girls age groups have earned automatic qualification into the prestigious US Youth Soccer National League for the 2013-2014 season.

US Youth Soccer players Victoria Andreski, of Wilkesboro, N.C., and Tyler Wischnefski, of Sussex, Wis., are the recipients of the fifth annual US Youth Soccer William J. "Billy" Goaziou Scholarships. Both teens play key roles on their soccer teams as well as in their communities.

Healthy Kids Out of School, an initiative of ChildObesity180, today launches the Healthy Kids Hub website (www.HealthyKidsHub.org) to support out-of-school programs in promoting healthy snacks and physical activity through customized, evidence-based tools and resources. The website was launched at the National Afterschool Association Convention in Indianapolis with more than 2,000 out-of-school-time leaders in attendance.
