Eighth annual Youth Soccer Month comes to a close

October 4, 2010 10:00 PM
Youth Soccer Month expanded to new heights this year by delivering 500 Game-in-a-Box kits to players along the nearly 5,000 mile path the Giant Jersey Tour traveled. The tour made a total of 14 stops and traveled to each US Youth Soccer region. Stops were made at a school, two tournaments, three MLS games, a festival and seven Sports Authority stores.
As the tour traveled around the United States and 50 colleges held Youth Soccer Month games, 10,000 hand fans, 5,000 stickers, 1,200 buttons  and 1,500 pom poms, 1,500 T-shirts, school kits and wrist bands, and were given away in addition to numerous other goodies. US Youth Soccer sponsors also were involved including adidas, Sports Authority, Liberty Mutual, Fox Soccer Channel, MLS, Sunbelt, Degree, Kwik Goal and CHIP. There was plenty to keep the fans engaged and to spread the message of Youth Soccer Month. There is no question that Youth Soccer Month was celebrated across America this September.
For the second year, US Youth Soccer tweeted and updated Youth Soccer Month fans on Twitter and Facebook. Our Facebook fans doubled this year! Continue sharing photos and Youth Soccer Month memories.
Continued in 2010, Youth Soccer Month Action Days encouraged everyone to get involved in the celebration. Four fun training activities kept everyone in the action on Thursdays and children shared their soccer pride by wearing their jersey to school on Fridays during Youth Soccer Month.
