In Soccer America Magazine in June 2008, Mike Woitalla highlighted the many unexpected surprises that can happen on the youth soccer field, including a trio of ducks landing on the field. He also chronicled the fully expected loud and emphatic cheers and suggestions by well-meaning parents and coaches. However, Woitalla points out that these cheers are not often beneficial for the players and the parents.

How the screaming hurts.
