Louisiana sets coaching course dates

State Coaching Symposium slated for Nov. 22-23
The Louisiana Soccer Association will host the seventh Annual State Coaching Symposium to be held on November 22-23 at the Holiday Inn in Hammond, Louisiana.
U.S. Soccer National Staff Coach and Instructor Jay Hoffman will serve as the guest clinician for the on-field portion of symposium, which will take place South Tangi Youth Soccer Association soccer fields adjacent to the Holiday Inn.
Hoffman is the former head coach for the U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team and Boston Breakers of the Women’s United Soccer Association, and a former assistant coach with the U.S. Women’s National Team.
The registration fee is $40 per person.

National Youth License
The "Y" License, also known as the National Youth License, will be held in Kenner, Louisiana on November 29 - December 4.
The curriculum of the course is based in proper educational methods for coaching children 12 years old and younger.
Coaches, team managers and club administrators involved with children’s soccer should attend the course, which will be limited to 40 candidates.
The cost is $620 for residents and $570 for commuters.

Beginning Goalkeeping Level 1 Course
Louisiana Soccer Association will host a Beginning Goalkeeping Level 1 Course at 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 7 at the Louisiana State University soccer stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Instructors for the six-hour course will be Kevin Mooney, Goalkeeper Coaching Coordinator for the Louisiana Soccer Association, and Louisiana Soccer Association Director of Coaching, Sam Snow.
Cost of the course is $75 per coach, and there are no prerequisites. Fee includes membership dues to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. If you are already a NSCAA member this will be credited to your next year’s dues.
The goalkeeping level 1 diploma course is directed toward the team coach. The diploma program is designed to give coaches at all levels of the game an opportunity to receive certification in coaching goalkeepers. The course includes both lecture (theory) and field (practical) sessions.
