Recognizing the impact and importance the sport of soccer plays in the day-to-day lives of America’s families, US Youth Soccer, with 3.2 million members, the nation’s largest youth sports association, is spearheading the first annual Youth Soccer Month – Celebrating Soccer in America, this September.

Youth Soccer Month will also highlight the various programs available to children interested in participating in soccer, including the inner city, special needs, recreational and elite soccer programs that have facilitated the growth of the sport at all levels.
Enclosed is a Youth Soccer Month package that explains the month in great detail and offers a variety of celebration ideas for you to consider implementing in your state. The national office has created and will maintain the official website, youthsoccermonth.org, which will serve as the central point for general information as well as house the master calendar. Enclosed for your use is a sample press release and letter to send to your mayor to have Youth Soccer Month officially proclaimed in your state.
The US Youth Soccer Board of Directors encourages each state association to take full advantage of this month-long celebration. Collectively, we can focus the national spotlight on our game and in doing so, fortify our position as the leader in youth sports.
I thank you for your support and interest in the game of soccer and urge you to celebrate Youth Soccer Month with all of us.
All the best,
US Youth Soccer
