Utah Governor Huntsman to Declare September Youth Soccer Month

Utah Governor Jon M. Huntsman, Jr. is joining Real Salt Lake and Utah Youth Soccer Association, a proud member of US Youth Soccer, to officially declare September as “Youth Soccer Month” on Thursday, September 15 at 1:00 p.m. MT.
RSL CEO Dean Howes, General Manager Steve Pastorino, RSL players, and UYSA President Leisa Vineyard will be a part of the ceremonial signing of the declaration at the new East State Capitol Complex building located behind the State Capitol. The declaration will be presented to soccer fans across the Wasatch Front during a special pre-game ceremony during the RSL-Columbus Crew game at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday, September 24. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. MT.

"Real Salt Lake is proud to endorse Youth Soccer Month through its partnership with Utah Youth Soccer Association, a proud member of US Youth Soccer, as well our friends in Wyoming, Nevada and Idaho. On Saturday, Sept. 24th, Real Salt Lake will celebrate the worlds' greatest game with area youth soccer teams when RSL takes on the Columbus Crew. The festivities begin at 6:00 PM at Carnival Real located inside the gates of Rice-Eccles Stadium. You can play in our bounce-house, take a shot on our inflatable goal, win prizes at the sound stage, get your face painted in RSL colors, eat great food, and even pick up a complimentary RSL athletic bag by joining the Jr. Loyalists, our youth fan club.
Then, at 7:30 PM, Clint Mathis, Eddie Pope, DJ Countess and the team take on the Columbus Crew led by Edson Buddle, Chris Henderson and Frankie Hejduk. Tickets are available to youth soccer participants at significant discounts by bringing 10 or more people (ie. YOUR SOCCER TEAM!). Day of Game Prices range between $14 and $32 with groups starting at only $12.00!
