Players from the US Youth Soccer ODP Boys 1990 Regional Teams will travel to Argentina this Friday, February 10th, to participate in a series of friendly matches with teams from the top clubs in Argentina. The annual event, known as the US Youth Soccer ODP Boys International Festival, features teams from each of the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) Boys Regional Teams as well as eight Argentinean clubs.
While in Argentina each of the US Youth Soccer ODP Boys Regional teams will play four of the eight Argentinean teams. In 2005, the US Youth Soccer ODP Boys 1989 Regional Teams lost only two matches during the International Festival in Argentina. Three of the four teams went undefeated.

Respected as the top clubs in Argentina, the trip is both a developmental and cultural experience for these athletes and yet another opportunity made available by the US Youth Soccer ODP. In addition to the US Youth Soccer ODP Staff Coaches, U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team Head Coach John Hackworth will be in attendance to further evaluate current members of his U.S. Soccer Residency Program and potential national team players. Sixteen members of the 2006 spring residency roster make up a portion of the regional teams in Argentina.
The teams will train in the morning of February 12 and then attend a professional match that afternoon. Match play will begin on February 13 and continue on February 14. Teams will have a day of rest on February 15 with match play continuing on the 16th and concluding on Friday, February 17.
