Competition Intense as National League Play Continues

RALEIGH, North Carolina (November 24, 2007)
– Elite youth teams from across the country in the Girls and Boys Under-15 and Under-16 age groups continued play in the inaugural US Youth Soccer National League at the WRAL Soccer Center in Raleigh, NC. 
 
The So Cal Blues-Dodge (2W-0L-0T) jumped to the top of the Girls Under-15 age group standings with a 3-0 victory over LDC United (0-2-0). The Dallas Texans 93 Girls Red (1-0-0) opened their season with a 3-0 win over KCFC Alliance (1-1-0) as Kelly Monogue scored twice for the Texans. PDA Tsunami (1-1-0) evened its NL record with a 1-0 win over the Sting Dallas Royal (0-1-1) as Morgan Kennedy tallied in the 11th minute of play.
 
In Girls Under-16 action, the Eclipse Select 91-92 (2-0-0) downed CFC United (0-2-0) 3-0 as Erin Dees and Samantha Barranco shared the shutout. Eclipse sits two points ahead of a four-team log jam in second play with the PDA Fire, ELA Elite, Dallas Texans Red 92 Girls and So Cal Blues-Lippens all with 1-0-1 records. ELA came from two goals down to tie the Texans 2-2, while So Cal edged the Syracuse Fury (0-2-0) 2-1 and PDA routed Hurricane FC 92 Shubert (0-2-0) 4-0.
 
The Chicago Fire Jrs (2-0-0) won its second straight over Michigan opponents edging Vardar (0-2-0) 1-0 and moved into sole possession of first place in the Boys Under-15 age group. The Baltimore Casa Mia Bays (1-0-0) opened their NL campaign with a 1-0 win over CASL Elite (1-1-0) on Jonathan Guzman's tally in the last minute of play. Meanwhile Solar Red (0-0-2) and the Michigan Wolves (0-1-1) battled to a 3-3 tie.
 
Over in the Boys Under-16 age bracket, the Dallas Texans 92 Red (2-0-0) are tied with the Manhattan Phoenix (2-1-0) with 6 points. The Texans edged Cobb FC (0-1-1) 2-1, while Manhattan won two games, 1-0 over the Arsenal Super Eagles (0-2-0) and 2-1 over the Chicago Wind (1-1-1). Caetana Sanchez scored a goal in both Manhattan games to lead all division goal scorers with three tallies. Finally, the Wind beat the YMS Xplosion (1-1-0) 2-1.
 
National League action will continue on Sunday at the WRAL Soccer Center.
