US Youth Soccer Names Marketing Assistant
FRISCO, TEXAS (November 26, 2007) - US Youth Soccer, the nation's largest youth sports organization, has named Rachel Knight as the organization's Marketing Assistant.
Beginning in May, Knight joined US Youth Soccer as an intern working with the communications team. She gained valuable experience during the internship and played a large role with the transition to the new USYouthSoccer.org and preparations for the second and final legs of the US Youth Soccer National Championships Series.
Her primary responsibility as Marketing Assistant will be the management of Kohl's US Youth Soccer American Cup, the nation's largest traveling recreational tournament. She will also assist the marketing department with fulfillment of sponsorships and in facilitating those relationships.
"Rachel's experience within the marketing department will put her a step ahead in her new role at the national office," said Jim Cosgrove, US Youth Soccer executive director. "We are excited that Rachel will be continuing her growth within US Youth Soccer. She will be a valuable addition to the team and will provide excellent organization for our programs, specifically the Kohl's US Youth Soccer American Cup."
Knight holds a bachelor's degree from Kansas State University, with major in public relations.
"I am very excited to continue my career with US Youth Soccer as the Marketing Assistant," Knight said. "I enjoyed my internship and look forward to working with the state associations and organizations involved with US Youth Soccer."
