National League to Complete Inaugural Season this April

February 13, 2008 09:00 PM

Schedule set for the Under-15 Girls and Under-16 Boys and Girls final National League Games
US Youth Soccer is proud to announce the schedule for the third and final set of games for the 2007-2008 US Youth Soccer National League on April 3-6, 2008 at the Ross Stewart Soccer Complex in Plano, Texas, outside of Dallas.

Champions will be named in the Under-15 Girls and Under-16 Boys and Girls categories at the end of these games. The Baltimore Casa Mia Bays were already named as the Under-15 Boys champion in December.

In addition to the scouting opportunities for collegiate and U.S. Soccer National Staff coaches, the top two teams that do not capture Regional Cup titles in each age group will earn berths to the annual US Youth Soccer National Championships at the end of July. The National Championships is the culmination of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series where the nation's champions are crowned in six age groups (Under-14 through Under-19) for boys and girls.

The top four teams in the National League will retain their slots in the league for the 2008-09 seasons, provided that the teams meet all eligibility requirements. The league will look to add the Under-17 age group, boys and girls, in 2008.

In the Under-15 Girls division all four spots in next season's National League games have been clenched by PDA Tsunami, Dallas Texans 93G, So Cal Blues Dodge and Eclipse Select. Three teams in the Under-16 Girls division have secured their spot in the 2008-2009 league: Eclipse Select 91, Dallas Texans Red and ELA Elite. The Under-16 Boys Dallas Texans 92 Red and the YMS Xplosion have both secured spots in the next season and the Texans 91/92, Chicago Wind Nationals and Manhattan Phoenix are all working towards the last two spots in April.
