Today (Sept. 17), in conjunction with the national Youth Soccer Month celebration, is "Passback Day." The Passback Program is an initiative of the U.S. Soccer Foundation and Eurosport to collect new and gently used soccer equipment and redistribute it to those in need. Since its inception, the program has grown enormously and thousands of pieces of equipment have been collected and distributed to schools, clubs and youth organizations across the nation.
From a small school in Zimbabwe to an after-school program in inner-city New York, Passback gear has found its way to all corners of the globe, but more can be done with your help!
Participate in Passback and help reach the ultimate goal of collecting and distributing a million pieces of equipment! Thousands of lives will be changed because of your efforts.
An easy way for you to help is by dropping off your new and gently used soccer equipment during the Youth Soccer Month Giant Jersey Tour in September. A Youth Soccer Month branded SUV will be touring events across America to share the excitement of soccer. You can track the Jersey and find a list of stops on YouthSoccerMonth.org. All of the shoes collected during the Tour will be part of the Foundation's attempt to set the World Record for the Longest String of Shoes at the 2009 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Convention in January. After the Convention all of the shoes will be distributed to local urban soccer groups in St. Louis. Share the equipment. Share the Game!
