Wear Your Jersey Day

September 17, 2009 10:00 PM

Today (Sept. 18), in conjunction with the national Youth Soccer Month celebration it is "Wear Your Jersey Day."

Show your soccer pride today by wearing your team or soccer hero's jersey to school, the park or a friend's house. Let everyone know that you play soccer and show you are a part of the national celebration of Youth Soccer Month.

Youth Soccer Month is dedicated to celebrating soccer in America. On Fridays during Youth Soccer Month tell your friends about Youth Soccer Month and think of fun ways that you can celebrate together. For ideas, go to /soccermonth/about/CelebratinginYourArea.asp.

Tell all of your friends to wear their soccer jerseys too. Even if your teammates attend multiple schools in your area, you can make new friends by seeing how many other kids at your school also play soccer for other clubs and teams. Arrange a pickup game over recess or after school with your fellow soccer players.

Don't forget to visit www.YouthSoccerMonth.org throughout the month to learn more about the benefits of soccer, see all of the great things planned and play the various contests.
