TOPSoccer Continues to Spread The Game For All Kids!®
September 23, 2008 10:00 PM
US Youth Soccer developed TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) to be a community-based training and team sport for young athletes with disabilities. Each year, the program continues to grow with the help of local volunteers and grants from US Youth Soccer.
Gainesville Soccer Alliance, proud member of US Youth Soccer and Florida Youth Soccer Association, is one of many deserving clubs that received a TOPSoccer grant from US Youth Soccer. The grant provided adidas jerseys, equipment and balls to help the Gainesville Soccer Alliance TOPSoccer expand their program.
Through the grant, and overwhelming volunteer response from students at the University of Florida, The Game For All Kids!® continues to bring soccer to more and more kids like 11-year-old Elijah Thomas, who has cerebral palsy.
Thomas is mostly confined to a wheelchair because of his disabilities, but with the help of his TOPSoccer Buddies, he gets to play soccer just like other kids his age.
