Interview with Michelle Enyeart

Two-time US Youth Soccer adidas Golden Boot award winner

In 2005, the Under-18 Girls Laguna Hills Eclipse (Cal-South) made a run for the title of US Youth Soccer National Champions, and although the team didn't capture the title, one standout player, Michelle Enyeart, made herself known. Enyeart's outstanding level of play and number of goals scored at the US Youth Soccer National Championships earned her the prestigious adidas Golden Boot award as most outstanding player.

Enyeart started stacking her soccer resume earlier that year as a member of the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) Girls Region IV Under-18 team. The team won the regional tournament to earn one of four slots at the US Youth Soccer ODP Championships where she was again awarded the adidas Golden Boot award for her outstanding play.

Competing in the two most elite programs in youth soccer, hard work, determination and gifted coaches put Enyeart at the top of college recruit lists, which eventually landed her in the position as the lead forward for the fourth-ranked Portland Pilots and a place on the U.S. Under-20 National Team.

Soccer America's Bryan Alvarez recently sat down with the highly decorated player who is Chile-bound for the world championships next month with the U-20s to find out more about Enyeart.
