US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional League Wraps Up Fall Season

The US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional League (MRL) 2008 Fall Season is coming to a close with Girls Premier Division champions in the Under-15, Under-16 and Under-18 age groups clinching trips to the US Youth Soccer Region II Championships, second leg of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series.
 
The MRL's mission is to provide the highest standard of competitive play for youth teams in US Youth Soccer Region II (Midwest) and to assure the continued growth and development of elite level players. Teams in the MRL's top tier (Premier Division) vie for wildcard spots in US Youth Soccer Region II Championships.
 
In the Midwest, the MRL offers both a Fall and Spring season of play attracting more than 600 elite level teams from across the 13 states that comprise US Youth Soccer Region II in the Boys and Girls U-14 through U-18 age groups. Team registration information on the 2009 Spring Season can be found below. Here is a capsule summary by gender age group from the MRL's 2008 Fall Season:
 
Boys Under-14: 49 teams competed for the 16 Premier Division slots in the spring (2009 Qualified Premier Division Teams [link]) season. Remaining teams will return for spring play in First Division competition.
 
Girls Under-14: 50 teams competed for the 16 Premier Division slots in the spring (2009 Qualified Premier Division Teams [link]) season. Remaining teams will return for spring play in First Division competition.
 
Girls Under-15: The Premier Division featured 10 teams. KC Select Scream Red (MO) finished first and earned a slot to the 2009 US Youth Soccer Region II Championships. In the First Divisions three teams earned promotion to the MRL Premier Division for the 2009 Fall Season – Chicago Fire Juniors Red 11 (IL); St Louis Scott Gallagher-Green (MO); Chicago Magic 93/94 Girls (IL).
 
Girls Under-16: The Premier Division featured 10 teams. Michigan Hawks 93 (MI) finished first and earned a slot to the 2009 US Youth Soccer Region II Championships. In the First Division three teams earn promotion to the MRL Premier Division for the 2009 Fall Season. KC Comets Select (KS) and Vardar (MI) have clinched spots while JB Marine (MO) and St Louis Scott Gallagher Illinois-Blue (IL) are playing for the last spot.
 
Girls Under-17: The Premier Division featured 10 teams. Eclipse Select 91-92 (IL) finished first and earned a slot to the 2009 US Youth Soccer Region II Championships.  The First Division's three teams that earned promotion into the MRL Premier Division for 2009 Fall Season are: Strikers FV 92 Premier (IL), TKO Premier SC (MI) and Lou Fusz Strikers Mannion (MO).
 
Girls Under-18: The Premier Division featured 10 teams. Eclipse Select 90-91 (IL) finished first and earned a slot to the 2009 US Youth Soccer Region II Championships. The ASC Eagles (IL) and Shattuck St Mary's Soccer Academy (MN) won their respective First Division groups.

MRL Spring Season Team Registration closes on Nov. 10

Information to register for the MRL 2009 Spring Season can be found at:
http://www.midwestregionalleague.com/index.asp). Qualifying teams as determined by their respective State Associations can register through Monday, November 10 at 5 p.m. ET. 
 
Competition in the spring season will feature both Boys and Girls U-14 through U-18 age groups.
