US Youth Soccer mourns the loss of Gale Heubach

Gale and Gary Heubach on a recent tripFRISCO, Texas - Gale Heubach, events manager and ten-year employee for US Youth Soccer, died Wednesday. She was 51.  

Heubach suffered an aneurysm at her home on Monday, November 10. She died at Plano Medical Center, Texas.

A native of Waco, Texas, her attention to detail and vision for the future set a standard for US Youth Soccer events. Joining the US Youth Soccer National Staff as executive secretary in 1998, Heubach was promoted to event manager where she served for eight years.

"Gale Heubach was a gifted manager, an unparalleled organizer, meticulous in details, and someone that loved her chosen profession and the ability to witness firsthand the excitement and joy of countless young people throughout her decade at US Youth Soccer," said Larry Monaco, US Youth Soccer president.

"For the US Youth Soccer family, the standard of excellence set by Gale Heubach will live on; she will be sorely missed."

Heubach is survived by her husband, Gary, with whom she loved to travel. They were together more than 25 years.

Funeral arrangements are scheduled at Connally-Compton Funeral Home, 4400 West Waco Drive, Waco, Texas on Wednesday, November 19 at 11:00 a.m.

Gale Heubach was a gifted manager, an unparalleled organizer, meticulous in details, and someone that loved her chosen profession and the ability to witness firsthand the excitement and joy of countless young people throughout her decade at US Youth Soccer.

For the US Youth Soccer family, the standard of excellence set by Gale Heubach will live on; she will be sorely missed.

The following is a statement from Jim Cosgrove, US Youth Soccer executive director:

US Youth Soccer, our national office and I mourn the loss of one of our own today. Gale Heubach, events manager, was dedicated to her job and those she served in making a lasting impressions on America's youth through our events.

Gale's death is a tragic loss for all of her colleagues at US Youth Soccer. Our thoughts and prayers are with Gale's family. We grieve with them in their loss, and will stand with them as they deal with this tragedy.

Today is a sad day for the US Youth Soccer family. We have lost one of our own and someone that gave all that she could to further the mission of our organization. For the millions of youth players that have participated in our events over the last ten years, each owe a thank you to Gale's love of US Youth Soccer. Our thoughts and prayers are with Gary and family.
