FRISCO, Texas (December 31, 2008) – After a successful first weekend of play in Raleigh, N.C., the Under-15, Under-16 and Under-17 Girls age groups resumed play in the US Youth Soccer National League season at the Disney Wide World of Sports ® Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., today. The League presents elite teams from across the nation in each respective age group.

The US Youth Soccer National League competition is for the nation's top teams in the Under-15, Under-16 and Under-17 boys and girls age groups, consisting of a total of eight teams per gender age group. The National League offers additional exposure to collegiate, professional and U.S. National Team coaches and offers top notch competition.

Teams play a seven-game schedule facing each team within its age group one time. The League consists of six weekends of play, with the first two being held in conjunction with the Men's and Women's NCAA College Cup.

The top two teams, from each age group, advance to the US Youth Soccer National Championships, and the top four teams, from each age group, secure a spot to return to National League play the following season.

Under-15
An early 7th minute goal by Allyson Krause of the Michigan Hawks 94-Black (MI) set the tempo for the game between the Hawks and NSA Fury (IL). Monika Lee upped the Hawks lead to 2:0 in the 26th. Neither team was able to finish after that, leaving the final score 2:0.

A battle between two teams from the same city ended in deadlocked 0:0 final score. The Dallas Texans 94 Red (NTX) and D'Feeters 94 (NTX) put forth their best, the both keepers were able to contest every attempt.

Under-16
Scorpions Elite (MA) and Montclair United Thunderbolts (NJ) took turns evening out the boards in today's game. Jessica Clinton hit a 12th minute goal for the Scorpions, but it was soon countered by Kate Schwindel in the 28th and another in the 45th to give Montclair the temporary 2:1 lead. Five minutes later, the Scorpion's Cory Ryan knocked one in for a 2:2 score. Schwindel topped off her hat trick for the night in the 62nd, but Corey Moynihan hit the final equalizer in the 77th for 3:3 final.

The Eclipse Select 92-93 (IL) and Dallas Texans 93 G Red (NTX) were both scoreless until after the half when Georgia Waddle netted one in the 50th for Eclipse. Kelly Price raised the Eclipse lead to 2:0 with a 66th minute shot. The Texans found the back of the net in the 80th, but it wasn't enough, and Eclipse won 2:1.

Under-17

As reigning US Youth Soccer National Champions (Under-16 Girls), the Dallas Texans Red 92 (NTX) held the BVSC Stars Mallorca 91/92 (KS) scoreless in a 4:0 victory today. Brittany Morgan (27:00), Shelby Redman (31:00), Amanda Frisbie (47:00) and Juliann Jeffrey (61:00) all scored for the Texans.

Two teams from the same state were head-to-head as Ela Elite (IL) and Eclipse Select 91-92 (IL) played it out. Nayalia Jovanovic opened scoring in the 45th for Eclipse and teammate Sammy Scofield solidified the 2:0 Eclipse win in the 77th.
