Competition Continues for US Youth Soccer National League Girls
Dallas Texans Red 92 Girls set to advance to US Youth Soccer National Championships

FRISCO, Texas (January 1, 2009) – The US Youth Soccer National League Under-15 through Under-17 Girls continued play at the
Disney Wide World of Sports ® Complex.
Action is fierce in the Under-17 Girls age group as today's games determined that the Dallas Texans Red 92 (NTX) will advance to the US Youth Soccer National Championships in Lancaster, Mass. Tomorrow the Texans will face Eclipse Select 91-92 (IL) for the US Youth Soccer National League Girls Under-17 championship title.
The US Youth Soccer National League competition is for the nation's top teams in the Under-15, Under-16 and Under-17 boys and girls age groups, consisting of a total of eight teams per gender age group. The National League offers additional exposure to collegiate, professional and U.S. National Team coaches and offers top notch competition.
Under-15
NSA Fury (IL) and Dallas Texans 94 Red (NTX) ended with a 1:1 tie after goals from Dallas' Alissa Lonsberry in the 38th and Fury's Zoe Swift in the 77th.
Another 1:1 tie came with the Michigan Hawks 94-Black (MI) and D'Feeters 94 (NTX) game. Monika Lee netted one in the 45th for the Hawks, but D'Feeters Karen Bell hit the equalizer in the 76th.
Under-16
Samantha Mewis hit a 20th minute goal to give the Scorpions Elite (MA) the early 1:0 lead over Eclipse Select 92-93 (IL). Twenty minutes later, Megan York shot one past the keeper to put Eclipse on the boards. The game ended 1:1.
The Dallas Texans 93 G Red (NTX) and Montclair United Thunderbolts (NJ) battled to find the back of the net, but the only goal of the game came from Texans' Kelley Monogue in the 60th. Monogue has five goals this season and currently leads the Under-16 Girls in for goals scored.
Under-17
Erin Pekovich knocked one if for Eclipse Select 91-92 (IL) in the 8th for the 1:0 upper-hand over BVSC Stars Mallorca 91-92 (KS). Christy Patterson upped the Eclipse lead in the 60th, and the game ended 2:0 for the Eclipse victory.
The Dallas Texans Red 92 secured their slot at the 2009 US Youth Soccer National Championships after today's 0:0 tie with Ela Elite (IL). Today's tie gives the Texans the opportunity to defend the national title they won in 2008 and tomorrow they will play for the National League Under-17 Girls title.
