Competition starts at 2009 US Youth Soccer ODP Boys Thanksgiving Interregional

US Youth Soccer ODP Boys 1995 and 1996 regional age groups, Under-14 U.S. National Team Participate

ORLANDO, Fla. (Nov. 27, 2009) - The annual US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) Boys Thanksgiving Interregional kicked off today with the 1996 age group competing at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla. 

US Youth Soccer ODP Boys 1996 Region III Green beat the U.S. Under-14 National Team Navy 2-1 in their first match of the interregional. DeAndre Robinson scored for Region III in the 6th minute from 20 yards out to the opposite side of the goal past the keeper. The National Team's Corey Baird crossed the ball to Oscar Martinez at the top of the box. Martinez evened the score when he turned to shoot from 16 yards. In the 64th minute, Region III's Dembakwi Yomba assisted Arthur Paterson. Paterson hit the volley out of the air and past the keeper. Region III won 2-2.

U.S. Under 14 National Team Red scored both of their goal within the first half for the 2-0 win over the US youth Soccer ODP Boys 1992 Region I Blue squad. Jorge Calix scored in the 30th minute. Four minutes later, James Ellis put the National Team up by two.

The US Youth Soccer ODP Boys Thanksgiving Interregional features teams in the 1995 and 1996 age groups including the U.S. Under-14 National Team. 

Continuing its tradition of elite play, competition and player development, youth from the nation's elite player identification and development program, US Youth Soccer ODP, will train and compete in front of national and leading collegiate coaches to maximize their exposure.
