FRISCO, Texas (March 19, 2010)
– The US Youth Soccer National League Under-15, Under-16 and Under-17 Boys and Girls resumed league play today at Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex in Las Vegas, alongside the 2010 Player's Soccer Showcase. Each age group is represented by four of the League's eight teams.

This is the final weekend of National League play. When standings are finalized on Sunday, March 21, champions will be crowned, two teams from each age group will advance to the 2010 US Youth Soccer National Championships and the top four teams in the Under-15 and Under-16 Boys and Girls age groups will earn the right to return to National League play for the 2010-2011 season.

Under-15 Girls
Hurricane FC (OK) beat the San Diego Surf White (CA-S) today, 1-0. Claire Kelley scored a last minute goal in the 80th minute for Hurricane. This is Hurricane's third win in League play and has moved them to third place in standings. Hurricane competes against the fourth place team, So Cal Blues, tomorrow.

Under-16 Girls
NASA Elite II (GA) are one step closer to their goal of advancing to the US Youth Soccer National Championships after winning in a close match against the So Cal Blues (CA-S), 1-0. Sam Thomas scored the lone goal of the match in the 34th minute for the NASA win. Last year, NASA lost in the US Youth Soccer Region III Championships and saw their Under-19 Boys team play in the finals for the McGuire Cup. Tomorrow, they face the San Diego Surf in a challenging matchup.

Dave Smith, head coach of NASA said, "It would be a great accomplishment for this group of girls and our club [to go to the National Championships]. They work really hard and nine of [our players] are on ODP. They deserve the opportunity. If we can play these next two days like we played today and have the fortune we had today, I think we are going to Overland Park, Kan."

Under-17 Girls
The Slammers FC (CA-S) are in third place with two days of League play remaining. Today, the Slammers won 1-0 over the Cleveland FC (OH-N). In the 78th minute, Kassidy Hause secured the Slammers' win. With two days of play remaining, the Slammers hope to secure one of the top two League spots in the National Championships.

Currently, the standings leader, So Cal Blues remains undefeated after a win over the Eagles (CA-S), 4-2.

Under-15 Boys
Albion SC (CA-S) retained their top spot in standings after a win today over the Michigan Wolves (MI), 1-0. Through an individual effort, Richard Kirouac scored with the outside of his right foot from an angle 10 yards out into the side netting in the 77th minute. The competition was strong and the Wolves had many good chances.

Under-16 Boys
Grand Rapids Crew Juniors (MI) won their fourth game of the National League today over Sereno 94 White (AZ), 1-0. Jason Stacy's goal in the 29th minute keeps Grand Rapids at the top of the Under-16 Boys standings.

Under-17 Boys
Elite FC Gladiators (NM), new to the National League in the 2009-2010 season, won their first match of League play today. They won 3-0 against the Blast FC Red (OH-S). Drew James on scored in the 11th minute off a header. In the second half, Andrew Thoma scored after going one-on-one with the keeper in the 67th minute and Ian Rosado finished 87th minute.

"The competition has been exceptional here. Being able to come out to these events and play some of the best teams in the nation really helps us prepare for the better things," said Nicolas Miele, Elite FC.

National League action continues Saturday, March 20 at Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex with games starting at 10 a.m. PST. For complete standings, scores and schedules, visit the National League Center or go to /National_League/. Follow National League on Twitter (@nationalleague) and on
