Final pairings determined at 2010 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (July 10, 2010) – Preliminary play concluded today at the 2010 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup at the Richard Siegel Soccer Complex in Murfreesboro, Tenn., determining final pairings for tomorrow's championship and consolation matches.

A 3-0 win over Freedom Soccer Club Blue (OH-S) puts PVSC Exiles (CA-S) into the Under-14 Girls championship match as undefeated at the National Presidents Cup. PVSC will play Bethesda Threat (MD), the two played in the second day of preliminary games and PVSC walked away with the 3-0 win. Bethesda earned their way to the championship match with after a 1-0 victory over Forsyth Fusion 96 Gold (GA).  

The Under-15 Girls Freedom Soccer Club Blue (OH-S) topped Palmdale Thunder 94 (CA-S) 2-1 to remain undefeated through preliminary play and advance to the championship match where they will face FC Napoli (MA). Napoli knotted 2-2 with Miami Lakes Soccer Club (FL) for a Miami and Palmdale pairing in the consolation match.

After back-to-back ties, AR Rush Nike 94 (AR) Under-16 Girls slated a 3-0 win over Manhattan Kickers SC 93 (E-NY) to secure a slot in the championship match. South Bay Force Blue (CA-S) marked one in the win column in the second day of preliminary play against Manhattan, chalking that with a 0-0 knot with St. Louis Scott Gallagher Red (MO) today, South Bay will compete for the National Presidents Cup title.

Western United FC (MA) Under-17 Girls defeated Central Brevard Cyclones (FL) 1-0 to advance to the championship match and play SVSC Eclipse (CA-S), a team that secured their seat with a 3-0 victory over SFE Fusion (IN).

AVSC Ambush (CA-S) Under-14 Boys marked a 3-2 victory, their second win of preliminary play, against Cincinnati United Premier Crew Jr. Silver (OH-S). Ambush advances to the championship match with a 2-0-1 record, the tie was a product of their game with Shalrie Joseph SC (MA), a rematch of the two teams is set for the championship. Shalrie had a 1-1 draw against IMG Soccer Academy (FL) for IMG to compete with Cincinnati in the consolation match.

In the final day of preliminary play, there were ties across the board in the Under-15 Boys age group. Texas Rush Nike 94/95 (S-TX) slated a 2-2 draw with VFC Blast (MA) and Sagebrush United Red (NV) had a 3-3 draw with Millennium SA Fire (IN). Rush and Sagebrush tied in the first day of preliminary play, but a true champion will be determined as the teams meet in the championship match for the National Presidents Cup crown.

Idaho Rush Nike and Thunders United (S-TX) Under-16 Boys both notched a win in the final day of prelims, Rush's, a 1-0 victory over NIFA (IN) and Thunders, a 4-2 final over Expo's (MA). Rush and Thunders met on day one of games where Rush walked away with the 1-0 result.

Entering the final day of preliminary play, the Under-17 Boys' teams all shared the same 1-1-0 record, and all were looking to snag a win to secure a spot in the championship match. So Cal Rush 92 Nike accomplished the win with a 1-0 victory over Cutters 93 Red (IN) to send So Cal to the finals. So Cal will meet another Rush club in Texas Rush Nike 92/93 (S-TX). Texas Rush earned their slot after a 0-0 draw with DSB Kickers 93 (DE) in which the right for Texas Rush to advance was determined by goal differentials.
 
Championship and consolation matches begin at 8 a.m. tomorrow to name the 2010 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup Champions.
