Coaching Education | August 2010

August 1, 2010 11:15 AM
Mike Singleton, Mass Youth Soccer executive director, addresses issues that arise when coaching U-12 players in the article Mass Youth Soccer U-12 Specialty Clinic. Puberty is a natural part of a child's life as they enter into young adulthood and those changes can and do relate to activities on the soccer field. In boys and girls alike, by the time they reach their 12th year, mental and physical changes are taking place. They're growing taller and faster while increasing their decision making and problem solving ability. Singleton addresses the changes and gives coaches some helpful things to remember when coaching within that age group.
