FRISCO, Texas (Feb. 23, 2011) – US Youth Soccer
, the nation's largest youth sports organization, today announces Sports Authority has renewed their partnership as the official sporting goods retailer of US Youth Soccer for two years.
The partnership encompasses many elements intended to add benefits for US Youth Soccer members.
US Youth Soccer FUEL Magazine, launched in 2010, will be distributed through each of Sports Authority's more than 400 stores nationwide to further the integration of the partnership and educate the soccer families gearing up at Sports Authority. FUEL Magazine will be available in the soccer section of the store in custom displays.
Sports Authority will sponsor the first US Youth Soccer app as a part of the renewal. The app will be a bridge to all things related to the game and an extension of the highly successful USYouthSoccer.org featuring specific content for parents, coaches, players and referees. The app will also provide gear and reviews essential to youth soccer players and their families.
Sports Authority is continuing its signature program with more than 2 million discount cards available to US Youth Soccer members' households. Members will also be eligible for seasonal bonus discounts available only to US Youth Soccer cardholders.
"Sports Authority is another example of our partners creating additional value of membership through their sponsorship with US Youth Soccer. We are pleased to add these new benefits of US Youth Soccer FUEL Magazine and app as a part of Sports Authority's continued support of US Youth Soccer," said John Sutter, president of US Youth Soccer.
"We are very excited to be the official sporting goods retailer of US Youth Soccer," said Jeff Schumacher, EVP and Chief Marketing Officer of Sports Authority. "This partnership has long-lasting potential because we share the passion for our nation's youth being active in sports, promoting the development of a healthy lifestyle, and the growth of soccer in the United States. We look forward to providing great value to US Youth Soccer members for years to come."
Sports Authority will be featured on USYouthSoccer.org and at US Youth Soccer events. Related member benefits will also be communicated through the US Youth Soccer e-newsletters. US Youth Soccer marks will be included in select Sports Authority weekly print advertisements and in-store displays to promote the sponsorship.
