The road to the 2012 US Youth Soccer Region IV (West) Championships begins this weekend with the start of the Fall Far West Regional League season. Winners of the Fall Far West Regional League automatically qualify for a wildcard berth at the Far West Regional Championships, being held in June, 2012 at Reach 11 Sports Complex in Phoenix, Ariz.
The Far West Regional League provides the top teams in the West with meaningful and competitive games as teams attempt to qualify for the most prestigious youth soccer event in the country, the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series
. Teams must earn their spot in the League through on-field performance regardless of hometown or club affiliation, making the US Youth Soccer Regional and National Leagues
the most competitive youth soccer competitions in the U.S.
Far West Regional League play continues to provide players with an opportunity to advance in the game as college coaches and Regional and National Team scouts evaluate the top talent in Region IV in a competitive environment.
The opening weekend of play is concentrated at Morgan Hill in the Bay Area for college-recruiting age groups, with games also taking place at Birdsall Complex in Temecula, Calif., Preston Park in Preston, Wash., New Mexico Soccer Complex in Bernalillo, N.M. and Rancho Capistrano in San Juan Capistrano, Calif.
