Vestavia Hills, Ala. (Dec. 8, 2012) — The annual US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) Boys NCAA Interregional is continued Saturday at Sicard Hollow Athletic Complex in Vestavia Hills, Ala. The three-day event features boys from the 1995 and 1996 age groups.

Continuing its tradition of elite competition and player development, youth from the nation's top player identification program, US Youth Soccer ODP, will train and compete in front of national staff and collegiate coaches to maximize their exposure for selection to the next level of play. The 2012 US Youth Soccer ODP Boys NCAA Interregional includes players in the 2013-2015 graduation classes.

US Youth Soccer ODP, the nation's original player identification program, has continued its tradition of elite competition and player development for more than 30 years, and is the only development program that can claim members of Major League Soccer and the Men’s and Women’s National Teams. Highlights from today's matches:

1996 Boys: Region I v. Region III
Two goals early in the second half helped Region I defeat Region III, 2-0. Patrick Berneski headed in a corner kick in the 51st minute to put Region I ahead. Just a couple minutes later, Daniel Vicente doubled the lead with a low drive from 20 yards out that found the net off the inside of the post.

1996 Boys: Region IV v. Region II
It was a defensive battle for much of the match between Region IV and Region II. After 85 scoreless minutes, Andrija Novakovich found the back of the net for Region II, helping his team to a 1-0 victory. The 85th-minute goal was Novakovich’s second of the event.

1995 Boys: Region I v. Region III
Behind two first-half goals, Region I held off Region III for a 2-1 victory. Region I’s Dale Ludwig scored just five minutes into the game to give his squad the lead, and Vincent Barone doubled the advantage in the 29th minute. Region III pulled within one in the 82nd minute when Daniel Lamah took a nice pass from William Woody, touched around a defender and slotted the ball home. However, Region I held on for the win.

1995 Boys: Region IV v. Region II
The first tie of the tournament occurred when Region IV and Region II ended at 2-2. Region IV struck first thanks to an own goal in the 18th minute. Region II responded shortly after halftime when Eric McWoods scored, and it took the lead in the 82nd minute after Kaelon Fox converted a penalty kick.
