AUBURNDALE, Fla. (July 14, 2013) – After four days of play, champion teams were decided Sunday at the 2013 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup finals in Auburndale, Fla.
 
The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup is designed for teams seeking additional challenges to play for a national title against teams of similar abilities. The cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer.

Highlights from Finals Day:
 
Under-13 Boys: PDN International (TX-S) 2-0 DSC Alliance SC Galaxy (MD)
Under-13 Boys team, PDN International from South Texas took home the championship, after defeating DSC Alliance SC Galaxy 2-0. Two first half goals by Iram Baylon (7’) and Armando Cano (16’) held over in the second half to give PDN the win. Despite losing to DSC in preliminary play, PDN came up victorious in their rematch and took home the final.
 
Under-14 Boys: Crystal Lake Force Elite (IL) 3-2 Downtown SC Black (CA-S)
Crystal Lake Force Elite took the U-14 Boys title after defeating Downtown SC Black 3-2. Crystal Lake got three early goals in for their win. Cade Klusendorf notched a pair of goals (8’ and 19’) as did his teammate Nikolas Getzinger (14’). Downtown SC started to make a comeback in the second half, with two goals by David Orellana (45’) and Gomez Frank Barrios (55’), but Crystal Lake’s strong defense helped maintain the win.
 
Under-15 Boys: Guameru SC (TX-N) 2-1 International SC St. Tomas (NV)
Guameru SC is now the U-15 Boys Presidents Cup champion, after defeating International SC in a close 2-1 match. Guameru got the first goal of the game in the 22nd minute (Samuel Morales) but International quickly recovered four minutes later (Jose Sepulveda 26’). Before the first half was over, Alfredo Rangel found the back of the net in the 37th minute, and Guameru’s strong defense helped keep the 2-1 lead for the rest of the match to win the title.
 
Under-16 Boys: NADO (CA-S) 2–0 TESC Elite Red (NC)          
NADO Select from Cal South defeated North Carolina team TESC Elite Red to win the U-16 Boys championship. Sean Aucoin and Gabriel Alamillo got two goals in the first half, and NADO’s solid back line kept the shutout through the rest of the match. NADO went undefeated throughout the entire National Presidents Cup tournament.
 
Under-17 Boys: La Roca Select DT (UT) 4-1 YMS Clash (PA-E)
Utah team La Roca Select won the U-17 Boys title, after defeating YMS Clash 4-1. La Roca dominated the match scoring two goals in the first half by Brody Gardner (35’) and Conner Olsen (37’), and getting two more in the second by Chandler Baddley (59’) and Keyanu Tate (85’). YMS Clash’s Dan Martin got a late goal in the 88th minute, but in the end La Roca won the championship.
 
Under-13 Girls: Wasatch (UT) 2-0 Bay United Sharks (FL)
Wasatch went undefeated in the entire tournament, thus earning them the U-13 Girls National Presidents Cup crown. Utah based team Wasatch defeated Bay United Sharks from Florida 2-0 in the final. Clair Boman scored in the 29th minute of play, and Haylee Gardner also got a shot in the 63rd minute.
 
Under-14 Girls: SASA Spirits (IL) 3-1 West Chester United SC Predators (PA-E)
Under-14 Girls team SASA Spirits won the National Presidents Cup title after beating West Chester United SC 3-1. SASA Spirits was down 1-0 in the first half (WCUSC Carly Quigley 32’), but they found their vigor in the second half and shifted the game in their favor. Within ten minutes of each other Maddie Klintworth (42’), Kendall Boyd (45’) and Macy Vorreyer (50’) all scored to give SASA the 3-1 advantage.
 
Under-15 Girls: SC Del Sol Maxwell (AZ) 2-1 LNSC Eclipse (NC)
SC Del Sol defeated LNSC Eclipse in a game that went into penalty kicks. Both teams battled it out, and at the end of regulation were still in a draw. It wasn’t until after overtime that fate was decided at the PK mark, and in the end SC Del Sol claimed the U-15 Girls championship.
 
Under-16 Girls: Albion Hurricanes Blue East (TX-S) 1-0 Rush Swoosh (CO)
Albion Hurricanes didn’t lose a single match in the tournament, and their hard work paid off because they took home the U-16 Girls crown. Albion defeated Rush Swoosh 1-0 in the final, and the lone goal was produced by Raegan Padgett in the 53rd minute of play.
 
Under-17 Girls: Fusion (NY-E) 3-0 Eastside FC White (WA)
Fusion made a comeback in their rematch against Eastside FC, and came out victorious with a 3-0 win and the U-17 Girls title. Brittany LaPlant opened the scoring for Capital United Fusion in the 29th minute, and in the second half Taryn More scored in the 73rd minute of play. LaPlant wanted to make one more mark before the end, and she produced a late goal in the last minute giving Fusion a 3-0 result.
