FRISCO, Texas (Feb. 9, 2018) — The schedule has been announced for the final two weekends of 2017-18 US Youth Soccer National League play in Las Vegas, where 27 division titles will be decided. National League division winners in the 16U, 17U and 18U age groups, along with division winners and runners-up in the 14U and 15U age groups, qualify for the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Championships, adding an extra element of excitement to the final weekends of play.

The games will be played alongside the Player’s College Showcase, as the National League teams have another opportunity to compete in front of collegiate and national team coaches while playing meaningful matches against top competition.

2017-18 National League Las Vegas Schedules: Boys Girls

Due to game cancellations because of unplayable field conditions during their opening weekend in North Carolina, the 15U-18U Boys teams will play a six-game season. Meanwhile, all 14U Boys teams will compete in Las Vegas and play five shortened matches over the course of the three days to complete a seven-game season.

The girls weekend will follow a traditional schedule, as the teams competing in Las Vegas will play three games to complete a seven-game season.

The National League provides an avenue for teams to play in meaningful matches against top competition from across the country for continued development and opportunities for exposure at the national team, collegiate and professional levels. In addition to recruiting opportunities, the top finishers from each division will earn a ticket to the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Championships in Frisco, Texas, creating additional value and pressure as each game could make or break their chance at competing for the National Championship. The top finishers in each age group can also earn an automatic spot in the 2018-19 National League season.

Just three boys teams and three girls teams have solidified a place in the 2018 National Championships. Entering play in Las Vegas, 34 spots — 17 for the both the boys and girls — are still up for grabs, as a majority of the teams head into the event with hopes of punching a ticket to Frisco, Texas.

The National League is the most competitive league available in the country, and is an extension of the highly successful US Youth Soccer Regional Leagues (US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional League, Midwest Regional League, Southern Regional Premier League and Far West Regional League). National League teams are among the best in the nation and each team has had to earn their place in the league with a proven track record of success in US Youth Soccer regional and national competition, regardless of club affiliation or location.

The National League’s alumni have gone on to prove themselves at the collegiate and professional levels, with former players competing in NCAA Division I, II and III, Major League Soccer, National Women’s Soccer League, the UEFA Champions League, the Olympics and the FIFA Women’s World Cup. The top pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft and the last three NWSL Drafts (2015-17) have each been former National League players.
